Network for the Rights of the Child in Mexico

REDIM is a coalition of 77 Mexican civil society organizations that develop programs in favor of Mexican children and adolescents in vulnerable situations and that operate in 17 States of the Mexican Republic.

 

Background

The Constitutive Assembly of the Network was held on March 27, 2001 and in it the statutes and strategic lines were generally approved. However, the antecedents of this Network date back to at least 1995. Said organizations have worked to promote the adaptation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Mexican legal frameworks; in the design and monitoring of public policies related to childhood; in the promotion of spaces and experiences of child participation and in the dissemination and training on the rights of the child.

Mission

Promote a social and cultural movement so that girls, boys and adolescents know, exercise and enjoy their rights.

Expand knowledge about children and their rights.
Strengthen the capacity of Mexican civil society organizations in the fulfillment, respect and protection of the rights of children in Mexico.
Promote national and international legal, political and administrative mechanisms to guarantee compliance with and respect for children's rights and the exercise of citizenship by children and adolescents.
Create a current of opinion favorable to children's rights.
