Missing children in Mexico 2018

Since the beginning of the “war against narco”, the disappearances of people from 0 to 17 years of age increased from 1 a month in 2006 to 4 a day in 2018. As of April 2018, there were 6,538 missing children and adolescents; this corresponded to 17.6% of the records of missing persons in the country (37,088 in total). Year after year, girls, boys and adolescents represented a greater proportion of the total disappearances in Mexico: from 11.4% in 2006 to 30.7% in 2018.
