Child labor in Mexico 2017

At the national level, 3.24 million people between the ages of 5 and 17 were in child labor in 2017. This represented 11% of the population in that age range. 1.27 million of these girls, boys and adolescents (39.1% of those who performed child labor) carried out dangerous work, and 1.38 million (42.5%) carried out dangerous or inappropriate chores at home. In addition, 24.7% of those who were in child labor conditions carried out an occupation below the minimum age.
